Providence Proton Partners To Build Proton Center !
Providence Proton is partnering with St. Vincent’s – Birmingham (a Member of the St. Vincent’s Health System and Ascension) and its’ Bruno Cancer Center, Southeastern Oncology Associates and Susan Salter MD, and IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.) to bring advanced proton therapy cancer treatment to the State of Alabama and the Birmingham Region.
The Providence Proton Center will be located on or adjacent to the campus of St. Vincent’s Birmingham.
The Proton Center development costs are expected to be in excess of $50,000,000 and a typical Center takes two years to develop. Ground-breaking is expected over the next 6 months and the Center will open in 2019.
